Beamish – Steam Fair

For anyone born in the North East I imagine Beamish is an absolute staple of growing up, the living museum of the north, it’s a cracking set up but on the particular day we visited was for the Steam Fair.

Loads of steam enthusiasts from across the region and possibly even the country had turned up and in addition to all the standard stuff beamish has to offer. The guys with the engines were friendly and chatty talking about their machines and constantly driving round the loop that is Beamish.

If you haven’t been you need to go, it’s interesting and you always learn something. The actors (well volunteers most of them) are always in character and talk to the kids and involve them.

Bonus is you buy one ticket and can visit for the next 12 months free, there loads going on and we will be back
